Oil & Energy Crisis
July 15, 2008 Sweet Crude was selling for $147.24 and my human paid $3.98 per gallon for regular gasoline at the cheapest station in town.

July 17, 2008 Sweet Crude was selling for $129.27 and my human paid $3.99 per gallon for regular gasoline at the same station.

July 22, 2008 Sweet Crude was selling for $127.95 and my  human is still paying $3.97 per gallon for regular gasoline at the same station.

July 29, 2008 Sweet Crude closed at $122.19 and again she paid $3.93 per gallon for regular gasoline at the same station.

July 30, 2008 Sweet Crude closed at $126.77

JULY 20, 2008 - NYMEX West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil for September delivery closed down $2.69 at  $124.08 per barrel.   "Click on the oil pump for current prices"

HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?

HOW HIGH IS TOO HIGH?

I'm not a genius,  I'm not a math whiz, I am just a dog with a freezer temperature IQ. But even I know the math doesn't work. So what is the problem? Does it take a dog to see this a problem with the oil companies math?

Come on people, isn't it time to elect a Dog that has no problem in taking a bite out of the price gouging oil companies and OPEC.  I have to admit, it's a target rich environment!

The day crude went up, the price at the pump jumped even though the gas being sold was not processed with the new crude. Now that the price of sweet crude is falling, the prices at the pumps do not mirror the cost of gasoline as crude was rising. Someone seems to be making a great deal of money at the expense of the American people, and the truth will come out when the major oil companies announce their quarterly profits. The only questions are what will the politicians do? And what will the American people do other than yell at their friends and family.

On, July 22, 2008 a reporter on the NBC evening news made of of the silliest statements that borders on either a fable or lie relayed through him, and created by the oil companies.  It when like this:

The reason gas prices are not falling with the cost of crude is that the refineries and gas stations are attempting to recoup their losses when crude prices shot up!

I hope someone out there believes this fable, and those that do might not remember that when crude jumped up, it was followed the day after by higher prices at the pumps.   So, what monies are they recouping?  Or could it be that the oil companies are just making outrageous profits at the expense of the American public?  How much longer will the citizens of this country continue to pay for the greed of a few?  Or could it be they are right! Our nation is populated by SHEEP, that will do nothing more than bitch to family and friends?

Write congress, national and local news demanding the truth and lower prices. Demand investigations that are more than fictional plays, or demand our country does something to reduce our dependency on OPEC.  The point is to get of your ass and do something instead of just bitching.  Remember, there is strength in unity.

My Energy Plan

Record setting profits for Big Oil
Reported on July 31, 2008

exxon.jpg (8888 bytes) Second Quarter
for 2008
11.68 Billion Dollars in Profit
shell.jpg (5943 bytes) Shell Oil
Second Quarter
for 2008
11.6 Billion Dollars in Profit

When is enough, and what amount of profit is enough? When are the people of our country going to say enough is enough and demand politicians control the oil companies in the way Teddy Roosevelt took control or the Rail Roads when he put them under government controls and put Army troops in charge until the Rail Road companies decided they had been making too much profit off of the backs of the American People?

As your president, I promise to sink my teeth into this problem and if nothing else, I will have a few pounds of flesh to hand on the gate as a warning to those that would make undue profits and injure the American people.

One year age, the national average for regular gallon was 2.74 per gallon and sweet crude oil was selling for $71.00 per barrel. One year later crude hit a record high of just over $143.67 per barrel as gas prices shot up to a  national average price for a gallon of gasoline climbed to $4.08, according to a daily survey by motorist group AAA. That was up 0.7 cent from $4.08 the previous day, and eclipsed the previous mark of $4.07 set June 16. which has Gas prices almost 38% higher than where they were a year ago.

I have a few questions for the oil companies and the politicians, the so~called servants and protectors of the American public:

1. Why do prices at the pump jump the same day as crude prices go up and the fuel they are selling that day where purchased at lower prices?
2. Why do the prices at the pump not drop at the same rate as they went up as the price of crude drops?

To all the humans I know these are important questions, and for me. well let's say the higher prices are starting to piss me off.  It means fewer rides and opportunities to ride with my nose out the window and into the wind. After al, I love nature and 60 MPH wind up my nose.  Remember? DOG!!!

Mr. Obama:

No drilling No refineries No Nuclear No coal plants

As I listen to my opponents take about high fuel prices in begin to feel sick as I grew up in Southeast Louisiana and witnessed rigs from the first day the land was being cleared to the last day the rig was removed.  Mr. Obama first stated it takes 20 years before a drop of oil would reach the refinery. Then he modified that to 7 years and still he is missing the mark.  It appears that he should stop listening to his advisors that seem to be more clueless than the neighborhood ally cat, and speak with some of the wild-caters that have made their living in the oil fields.

When he stated that even if we found a new oil field and began production, we, the American public would never see a drop as all of it would enter the world supply and be purchased by other countries depriving Americans of fuel and relief from high prices. Again, misdirection that seems to be purposely generated to create fear in order to boost his chances to become President.

So what is his answer to the current energy problems? I know! Break out the garden hose, stick it up a cows A#$ and we will run everything of methane. And when we run out of cows, he will start with the humans.  ENJOY!!!

Apparently, Mr. Obama and the news media in general have forgotten that the truth is not only the best policy, but the truth will set you free!  As politicians we must tell the American public the truth and trust that the American public is smarter than the puppet masters believe they are.

Mr. McCain:

The senator has flip flopped from oil drilling to border security to amnesty for illegal aliens that have invaded our country.  So, Obama is not the only one that has change his mind on subjects that effect the daily lives of Americans.   It seems that all of them look at the polls and change their stance to what matters to us just to get votes. Senator McCain should have looked at the important issues before opening his mouth.

First he was against drilling in Alaska, then he was for it. nuclear was not safe, but now its great and so on.

Other Energy News:

If you never heard of Mr.T. Boone Pickens and his plan for our energy problems, I thing you need to watch this video.  I'm just a dog, and smart enough to know we are in deep, so I'm sure the rest of you humans have, or are real close to the same conclusion!

 Former, Mr. Gore:

Once again we hear from the former, You stole my election Gore.  I guess it was not enough to make a movie. I was not enough for his to win a Nobel prize, It was not enough for him to fly around in his Gulf stream just to tell us to sell our SUV's, but now he wants us to spend over $300 Billion dollars to get a zero level of oil use in 10 years.

It's not that I disagree that we as a nation are oil junkie's, and that we need to find ways to reduce our dependency on oil, but get real, $300 billion dollars. And what, take 10% of that to hire him as the big expert to save us.

I know I'm just a dog, but I have studied humans and come to the conclusion that for the most part, as a group, your not all that stupid.

Hurricanes and High Fuel Prices:

If you thought the crude oil prices were high a few weeks ago, just wait and see what will happen if a major hurricane gets anywhere near the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.   They might not be damages, they might never get tropical force winds, but they will use it as an excuse to take more of your money.

What I have Seen:

The truth as I know it from seeing oil rigs first hand is that from the time they clear and prep the land, erect the derrick and begin drilling is 60 days. Within 120 days the rig is being removed and a pipeline is being installed to deliver the product to the refinery. Granted, off shore drilling takes longer, but coastal drilling rigs built on large barges are towed into position and  begin drilling within 90 days.

The point I am trying to make is that we have the ability to produce a great deal of energy and lower the cost to the public if the politicians would open up more areas to exploration. If the politicians of states such as Florida to Maine do not want off shore drilling, then I propose introducing a special tax on those states with the funds being used to lower fuel cost for those in states that embrace the idea of drilling for oil to reduce our dependence on other countries that are not our friends and see us only as a customer and possible enemy.
